Back in the days when I was a punk rocker and interested in politics, I wanted to change the world. This was my favorite song at that time. A great protest song and a big social comment on the issues in England in the 1980’s. The Jam were right up there in trying to make the world a better place ... in their own way. I was there on protest marches and being an angry young person! I can’t claim to be as passionate about world issues now as I was then, but every time I hear this song, it transports me straight back to the eighties.
