Song Lyrics by Leslie Bricusse:
When I was young, I played the games of childhood
As a child would
I used to play
I'm a big girl now

But time slipped by like a daydream
I suddenly realized
The years have flown
And I have grown
I'm out on my own

The games I play
They are not like childhood
Like a child would
I'm not like her
I wish I were
But I'm a big girl now

Journaling reads:
I've always loved the theme song from the old TV show "I'm a Big Girl Now" and still feel like it's MY song. When I was little I dreamed of being grown-up and being a mom. Now, I look back and wish I could relive those wonderful, happy, and idyllic childhood days.
I think back to all the carefree moments and silly games I used to play. And I've watched my little girls playing the exact same games. It never fails to make me smile.

In one sense I guess I am reliving those days just a little. I can watch my daughter play and remember. And I can put on my party hat and play along too! Why not? That's the fun of having daughters!
