Journaling Reads: What makes life worth living is creating memories with the ones you love, and passing down memories and traditions from those who are no longer with us. I treasure every moment I have with my family and I want my three kids to cherish these memories too. That's why my collection of pictures, both printed and those on my hard drive, are one of my most treasured possessions. Over the years, I've kept little momentos of my kids from their baby hats, to their art work they have made over the years that I treasure. I also have my late grandmother's collection of handwritten recipes that remind me so much of her and the love she showed her family. I have lots of fond memories getting my hands dirty while helping her bake in her kitchen. These are some of the memories I tell my kids about so they can feel close to her, too. After she passed, my aunt gave me my grandmother's engagement ring that my grandfather purchased for her at Kay Jewelers on August3, 1956. The ring, called "eternally yours" is another one of my precious treasures that reminds me of my grandparents and the love they shared. Someday, I hope my kids look back on their time with their family and treasure these pictures, momentos, and memories like I do.
