Journaling reads: Have you ever heard of the Polar Plunge started in 2001 to benefit the Special Olympics? Well, Chicago does this, usually the first Sunday of March, when Lake Michigan is really cold. Caroline decided to try it in their backyard pool in April of 2014, when the air temperature was about 50 degrees. The pool was just opened and not completely heated. Brrrrrr, it was a short dip and a good thing big sister Katie was ready with the towel when she came out of the water.
