This year so far has been a doosy!  We needed to replace our faucets since we bought the house in June.  We finally got what we needed last week & started the project when we got the call that my MIL had passed away.  Needless to say, that put it on hold.  It got even worse with horrible hot water pressure, so on Tues. at 6pm, my son decided to finish it.  He started pulling everything apart.  This started a series of mini-crisis.  First, he couldn't get the hot water valve to turn off, so it was still pouring hot water and at one point a geyser of steaming water was shooting into the air, so I used my hand to hold it back, scolding it until we could get the water to house turned off.  Discovered that the valves were bad exactly 5 minutes after the local Ace closed.  After working all day, my husband had to drive out to the Home Depot to buy new valves.  Kelly & I continued to assemble the  faucet so that it is ready for the valves.  Frank arrives with the new valves that do not want to go on, but finally are installed and we turn back on the water.  Then, turn on the hot water heater valve, only to have that valve explosively fail shooting water everywhere - exactly 7 minutes after Home Depot is now closed.

The night was long, but we ended the night with a kitchen sink still leaking a little, no hot water and the wrong faucet for the bar sink that also needs to be replaced!   Tomorrow will be better!
