JOURNALING:  My sister’s Crested Yorkie, Pennie, is a little picky when she eats. She has been known to turn up her nose at many of the doggie treats available for purchase.  So, my sister often makes her own for her precious pup.  Thus we had a doggie treat baking day when I visited in November, 2016.

This is a recipe I received from a “Nose Work” dog training class I attended a few years ago.  It’s VERY easy, has few ingredients, and freezes quite well.

And best of all, Pennie likes them!

Egg Training Treats

2 eggs

1or 2 T milk

2 T cheese, shredded

1 or 2 T bacon bits

4 heaping T of flour

¼ tsp baking powder

Stir together eggs, milk, cheese and bacon bits. Add flour and baking powder to make thick dough*. Poor half onto parchment paper; microwave 3.5 to 4 minutes.  Cool, cut into tiny cubes; freeze in baggies until needed. Repeat with other half of mixture.

*measurements are flexible
