JOURNALING: on tag: Just 1 ½ blocks east of the new Dublin location of Johnson's Real Ice Cream, a Columbus tradition since 1950, sits Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, an artisan ice cream company founded in Columbus in 2002 and now nationally known. Their Dublin location has been around since 2008. When I tried to use my GPS to take me to the new Johnson's on National Ice Cream Day July 16th, it directed me to Jeni's. With flavors such as Churro, Goat Cheese with Red Cherries, and Middle West Whiskey and Pecans, one would never confuse Jeni's with Johnson's Butter Pecan, Dutch Chocolate, and Vanilla Chip. When it comes to ice cream, it's just a matter of taste which one you prefer. But, one thing you can get at the original Johnson's in suburban Bexley OH that you can't get at any of the Jeni's is the BEST tuna melt sandwich in town.
