Kaline was our first cat we got together, bringing her home the night of the first tine we said “I love you” I sang “Kitty Sunshine,” my lyrics send to the tune of "You Are My Sunshine” from that first days we had our one pound five week old kitten in 2005 right up until almost the end. Because of the last line in that short little lyric once she was diagnosed it made me cry singing to her "please don't take my kitty sunshine away."
It was cloudy driving to the vet’s office and we cried talking to Kaline. The sun came out on the way home and I cried again, harder. When my husband noted the sun was out and I stated to say “it’s because there’s no kitty sunshine down here.” He started to say he couldn’t understand me and stopped short saying, "oh, I know,” and joined me in more tears.
