Journaling: What a beautiful sight it was to arrive in Santorini – magnificent cliffs with buildings clinging to the sides. We had breakfast on the ship and then got the ferry to land. We took the 5 minute cable car to go up, with lovely views on the way. Once on top we wandered around the picturesque little streets, enjoying the little shops and loving the whitewashed buildings, everything looking so bright and clean.

When it came time to return to the ship, but despite the intense heat Ray walked down the zig-zag path whilst I took the cable car. He arrived very distressed about the donkeys which are used to take tourists up and down the mountain. On his walk down he say hundreds of them tied up, all in blazing sun with no water, the not so pretty side of Santorini!

When back on the ship, we cooled off with a sea breeze each!
