I've wanted to do a medieval layout for my boys for a long time, so I couldn't resist the chance to play with Castles and Kings page kit, Castles and Kings Add-on Pack, King Me Stamp Set - Crowns and Digital Punches - Strips & Borders, all by Elizabeth Weaver of Digital Scrapbook Place. If you have little princes or princesses, you need to check these out!

Layout notes: To create the texture in the journalling, I duplicated the green banner, turned it black and white and layered it over the text in hard light mode. Similarly, I layered the dungeon wall over the blended photo at screen mode, 50%. The photo itself was clipped to the stone wall to minimize the deep textures showing through the photo. All three of these layers had a layer mask applied. I erased parts of the crowns so the boys could wear them. Journalling reads: It took a while, but Sebastian and Jeremiah have become the best of friends. As brothers two years apart in age, we knew there would be some good times and some bad. We are fortunate that most days, the good out-number the bad. They argue and they take toys from one another. They fight over the colour of their bowls and over who gets to do something first, but most of the time, they are happiest playing together. And when it counts, they will give each other a hug and a bedtime kiss, even if it’s just a blown kiss.
