You had been with us for
almost 1 1/2 years,
and this
was your second trip to
Grayland Beach already,   
and
yet we were not seeing an end
to the State’s involvement in
your life.
We were completely
in love with you and even
though this was supposed 


to be a open and shut case,
the idea lingered that some
thing 
might prevent the adoption,
leaving a feeling of devastation
in the back of my mind.
