I said to an aide. when she was telling me about the things she was doing with her 3-year-old daughter, to take a ton of pictures. Her daughter likely won’t remember the things they do at that age and the actual memories are hers to cherish, but everything they do together at this age will become parts of the woman she becomes. Her heart will be warmed every time she sees those little things in the woman she created for the rest of their lives.
Like this one (and many others) did with my niece.
Journaling: On Christmas Eve 2010 Dave's family, Pop and I went to the Eastern Market. The outdoor Eastern Market had become vibrant like it had been years ago on Christmas Eve on the weekend before Christmas. However the indoor shops were still buzzing with holiday shopping.
I was still using the manual wheelchair in 2010 and Rina, who was 16 at the time, was enjoying pushing me at one of the markets. While we were moving I could hear her laughing while she said “vroom, vroom.” I shared the laugh, with a happy almost tear in my eye, I told her I used to do that to her. When she asked me what I meant, I told her that when I pushed her in her stroller I used to say “vroom, vroom.” She told me it must've been fun if it was so natural to do it and I told her that it still is.
