You were actually able to walk some ways into the mine? How cool is that? My brother was fascinated with the deserted mining towns and would always stop to explore. Ooh, made me go look this one up! Looks like a fascinating place to learn about - apart from the tragic deaths of the four miners. Seems like the water situation was temporary, so I wonder if it was not such a profitable mine worth the trouble to shore up the safety and reopen. Looks like the town was a fun tour. Terrific page!
