JOURNALING: 7/27/24 I grew up and currently live in Franklin County Ohio. From 2006 thru 2023, prior to Easter, a local newspaper columnist, Joe Blundo, would create a “digital Easter egg hunt”. He wrote ten riddles describing locations in and around the county where he had “digitally hidden” Easter eggs. Readers could send in their answers to the riddles. A winner was drawn from all of the correct answers and received a small prize. It was so much fun and I learned so much about this amazing area of Ohio. Three of my favorites are pictured on this page.
Lower.com Field is home to the Columbus Crew. They played their first match there on July 3, 2021, after moving from Historic Crew Stadium, the first soccer-specific stadium in Major League Soccer.
“Celebration of Life”, by noted sculptor Alfred Tibor, commemorates Sarah Sullivant, wife of the founder of the first American settlement in the county, and Arthur Boke, the slave’s child she adopted.
Measuring only two-tenths of an acre, Frank Fetch Park is a charming “pocket park”, developed and maintained by German Village area residents.
