This is the anniversary of the birth of Mary Shelley, probably best known as the author of "Frankenstein." Born Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin 227 years ago in the year 1797, she was the widow of poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and was 53 years old when she died in London England on 2/1/1851.
