Recipe:
Grandma's Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
1/4 c shortening
1/4 c butter
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp water
dash salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c+2 tbsp flour (I always end up needing more than this)
1/2 tsp baking soda
Temp: 400
Bake Time: 8-10 minutes
Directions:
1. Mix the first 8 ingredients together and set aside.
2. In another bowl, mix flour and baking soda. Gradually add egg mixture.
3. Add additional flour until dough is firm enough to roll flat. Roll out on floured surface and cut with cookie cutters.
4. Bake and let cool. Frost with buttercream icing and decorate as desired.
