You were named for your Uncle Michael. When you were born, your Uncle was deployed overseas in Afghanistan. At just five months old you were packed up in the back of your Grandma’s
car and traveled 10 hours to Fort Campbell, KY with her and mommy to welcome him home. We got up extra early on May 8th, 2011 and waited over an hour for your Uncle’s plane to land. Finally! At about 5:20am it was on the ground! Your Grandma and Mama were hootin’ and hollerin’ and so happy to finally see your uncle after many months overseas. After the official welcome from the base, he was released to us. We nearly toppled him over! We were just so happy! And then he met
you. It was the first time he got to see you, meet you, hold you. This is one of those memories we’ll never forget, and I’ll never grow tired of telling you. Your Uncle is one of Mommy’s best friends and she is so very proud of him and all that he does
not only for our family, but for our country.
