We are blessed to have a wonderful outdoor recreation area in our town. The grandkids like to feed the tamer geese and throw rocks into the lake. Some enjoy trying their hand at fishing. There are several paths perfect for bicycle riding, walking or running. The paths go around the lake or through a wooded area along the river. The lake is only short distance from us and is the perfect get-a-way place. Sometimes we have an impromptu picnic lunch but mostly we spend time together walking the dogs and enjoying being outside in nature. On occasion we have seen a bald eagle floating above the lake and then swoop down to snatch a meal. In the summer, I love hearing the call of the redwing blackbirds. In spring, the sweet aroma of the tamarisk in bloom delights the senses. Many times, it is just nice to sit quietly and take it all in... watching the ripples play across the lake, the clouds drift along in the sky or bask in the warmth of the sun. Confluence Lake is a perfect place to...just...unwind.
