Thanks, Laramie! The bird is a Cedar Wax Wing. I'd never seen them around before but all of a sudden last year there were hundreds of them in our hawthorn tree.
I was wondering if that was a Cedar Wax Wing! They sure are handsome birds. I have not seen one in the wild here.. only at aviaries in zoos so far. You were most fortunate!! Thanks for answering that question, Wendy.
