"Children don't have strokes... do they? Oh. Well, what does that mean? Oh. You've never seen a 5 year old with so many strokes? Oh. So how did this happen to him? Oh. It could be a lot of things. When's he going to wake up? Oh, you don't know that either. What is multi-organ failure exactly? Oh. ALL of his organs are failing. Can he get better? Oh. You don't know. Is there anything you can do for him? Oh. If his kidneys don't start working again soon they probably won't. Oh. So what about dialysis? Oh. He's too unstable. And now he's having seizures. Can this get any worse? Oh. Is he REALLY peeing? Does this mean he's going to live? Oh. Well, we can handle disabled. Thank GOD!"

OH Jan, you are so strong and caring for working in the Ped department. I think I would break down every night I go home. I remember you telling us in a Speed Scrap one day about one of your patients passing, so, so sad. Wonderful journaling and so heartfelt. You did an amazing job with the AJ and a very therapeutic way to express your feelings. {{HUGS}}

What stunning artistry in your page composition. The journaling is amazing. It's so heart wrenching when little ones have to face such huge obstacles in life.
