Journaling:
4/5/14 Jim and I are taking a “Bird Watching” class with our first session at Newnan’s Lake. This was the first bird we saw and I was struck by its beautiful blue/black colors. Males have very long tails that make up almost half their body length and that they typically hold folded in a V-shape, like the keel of a boat. These gregarious birds breed abundantly in salt and freshwater marshes along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts and throughout Florida.
