September, 2003.
I know that some will feel sad, after reading that, and may wonder why I would choose to make such a festive layout for this final celebration of Evan's life, but, I feel fortunate to have had my sweet angel for as long as we did, as when he was just an infant, living with a severe seizure disorder, his neurologist, after I asked, didn't think he'd live past age 2.
Granted it was a difficult and painful life for him (& us), I'm grateful for his gifts to me; those being
(1)the gift of motherhood, and,
(2) in this photo, his smile!
Though it's been nearly 13 years since his death, I miss him terribly still; however, I think missing him is less painful than it would have been to watch this brain damaged boy become a man in a broken body and a painful life."
