Journaling:  For the past two years, a pair of Great Horned Owls have raised two owlets in a nest originally built by a pair of eagles.  A live camera feed offers wonderful views of this Owl Family.  Great Horned Owl eyes are extremely large and well suited for nocturnal hunting. The pair mate for life and are fiercely protective of their young.  The picture below shows Mama standing over her eggs and spreading her wings to scare away intruders.  February 2016
