Our beloved 4-H horse got caught in barbed wire and though we tried hard to save her, infection set in and apparently can destroy the integrity of the tendons. We had to put her down and the whole family is very down this week. The main photo was my daughter walking her to the trailer to take her to be put down. The other photo was after her successful junior rodeo events this summer where my daughter won several ribbons and 2 belt buckles (which I got the ok to use an older photo also in the Q&A section). All the flowers made me think of the horseshoe wreaths you see at both the horse races and funerals. I think this is the first sad page I have ever made.

Journaling reads: After having 5 years of the best 4-H horse imaginable, a barbed wire wound injured her beyond repair. We tried with 12 days of antibiotics but she appeared to have lost her tendon.

I used Blossom by Neia Scraps, with her matching add-on Flowers and Alpha. The wooden background paper is desaturated from Mandy King's Jinglebelling Edgy Wood Papers.
