WATERMELON LOVE - I love watermelon! But growing up we didn’t buy melons until the season was almost over and they were selling for pennies. However, I remember one year my dad sold watermelons out of the back of our pickup. He would cut into one and then give samples to customers before they bought. And after one taste, they would always buy. They were absolutely THE WORLD’S BEST WATERMELONS . . . or at least that is how my 63 year old brain recollects my 7 year old experience.
