Journalling reads:  At age almost  4, Mads had a big crush on the story of Aladdin and Jasmine.  The book was read and pored over to within and inch of its life and, when reading it to her, you could not try to skip a page because she knew it off by heart.  She would spend ages acting out various scenarios from the story, dressing herself up in pyjama pants tucked into slippers, a T shirt rolled up to expose her tummy, wrapping her head and shoulders in her Mum’s scarf and draping whatever jewellery she could find around her body.  But that isnt the funniest part of the story.......At this time, her twin baby sisters were about 7 or 8 months of age, sitting but not crawling.  Mads would set up her bedroom stage...magic carpet on the floor, satin pillows placed around, toy teapot “lamp” to hand, fluffy toys sitting around taking the parts of Abu and other characters....then she would collect her sisters, grabbing them one at a time under the arms and dragging them backwards (they were too heavy for Mads to carry) up the hall into the bedroom, placing each one in the required position to carry out their role as her live audience. Maddie would then act out her Jasmine role to her heart’s content ordering the girls to clap hands when prompted (a new skill they had not long learned).  However, this all came to an end when the girls learned to crawl. Maddie could not get them to stay in their designated position, sometimes one would even crawl out of the bedroom before she had gotten back with the second one.  She would get so cross and frustrated and could not understand why her sisters would no longer sit and enjoy her performances! It was so funny. Sadly there are no photos of these happenings but, by recording the story in this LO, I hope that the memory lives on so that the girls can share it with their own children one day.
