Journaling: Plan for today was the visit Siena, however after driving around for more than an hour and finding no parking of vaguely walking distance of the city we drove on to Montalcino (still didn't avoid the driving around looking for parking but at least finally found!)
On the way to Montalcino we found more sunflowers & of course could not resist stopping to photograph them!
Wandered around, visiting churches, photographing pretty scenes, and around a corner suddenly came upon a piazza full of shiny Ferraris, looking so incongruous in this medieval town! E even I as a completely non-petrol head was impressed by the roar as they took off…….the rich and famous having their 2017 summer tour!
On our way home we stopped at Romanesque Abbey of Sant’Antimo, surrounded by olive trees and cypresses. By now we were so hot and tired we simply admired it from outside leaving the interior for another visit to this beautiful part of the world.
