This is for a challenge at another site. We were given a vintage photo and had to make up a story about it then scrap a page.

JOURNALING:  Another tale that Grandma Phoebe used to tell was the time she and her brother almost sailed on the ill-fated maiden voyage of the Titanic. It seems that Phoebe and her brother, Phillip, were going to return to the United States from their visit in France under the care of a neighbor lady and her husband.  The man, Joey, had just signed on as an engineer on the Titanic. He, his wife, and two daughters all were returning to his native Haiti. Phoebe said a couple of days before the ship left Cherbourg for New York, they all went down to the docks to view this luxury ocean liner. Phoebe got scared when she saw how big it was and Joey took a heart-shaped pendant from his hat and gave it to her to give her a “courageous heart”. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Phillip caught a cold and was too sick to travel. The neighbor family left on the Titanic and Phoebe never heard from them again. Quite a story! But, when I found this old photo and noticed the heart-shaped pendant on the man’s hat, I had to wonder if this was a photo of the neighbors. Hmmm….perhaps Phoebe’s Fantastic Fables were actually real!
