Journaling reads:
My first day of high school went pretty well. I had my best friend Sara with me, new school supplies, my teenage attitude, and the innocence left over from my childhood. Later, I found out that the guidance counselor saw me and thought “there is one person I’m not going to have to worry about.”
Boy, was he wrong! After that first day, things went downhill for me. Sara and I grew apart, and though I made some new friends (who I’m still friends with today), I also made some not-so-good friends. “Friends” who got me to try smoking. I started drinking too, but mostly in secret, in my room.
My teenage attitude got much, much worse. I became very depressed, and I didn’t get along with my parents anymore. That was a rough time in my life.
There were many times when I wished
I could go back to that first day
of school when things were
simple. and I was still
innocent.
