“Let the Trek Begin! BriAnna joined our Legacy Stake in her first and only trip on Trek. She was a little nervous but super excited. The idea of the handcard trek is to expose today’s teenagers to the challenges that our Latter-Day Saint Pioneer ancestory went through. They were to walk only about 6 miles a day, a far cry from what the real pioneers did. Nonetheless, it is a great lesson on appreciating those who have gone before us and the sacrifices they made in our behalf. Although our kids will have cooks to prepare their meals, portable toilets to use, and other modern conveniences, hopefully they will have a greater appreciation for those who have gone before.
