Journalling reads: At the age of 4, Jack was diagnosed with a condition known as Perthes disease, a rare ailment where the blood supply to the hip joint is inadequate causing the bone to die. Most children make a full recovery but the treatment requires rest and very limited physical activity for many months. This was a major blow to sports mad Jack. He spent many hours doing puzzles, drawing, playing board games......in these photos he is sitting outside laughing hilariously at his brothers playing tag, unable to join in but enjoying the game anyway. What a great kid!!
