JOURNALING: I really enjoyed the final, sold-out show of “The Savannah Sipping Society” at the High Springs Playhouse, Sunday, February 24. Unfortunately, they ran out of programs so I can’t identify the actors, but all of them were excellent and the story is so much fun. From the theatre’s website: From the authors of Dixie Swim Club comes a laugh-a-minute comedy about four Southern women, all needing to escape their day-to-day routines, drawn together by fate—and an impromptu happy hour. Hilarious misadventures and the occasional liquid refreshment lead the ladies to discover lasting friendships and a renewed determination to live in the moment.

Jinx: spunky wanderer who volunteers as a “life coach” to these three women, unaware that she is the one most in need of good advice.

Marlafaye: a down-to-earth Texas gal, starting a new life in a new town after her ex husband left her for a young dental hygienist.

Dot: recently widowed and dealing with the loss of their plans for an idyllic retirement in this new city of Savannah.

Randa: a perfectionist, workaholic struggling to cope with a sudden job loss. The play takes place on Randa’s veranda.
