Dear Dylan,
We lovingly refer to you as our “little caboose”, “little surprise” and “best present in the whole world”.
When your big sister Ashlyn asked Santa for a new baby brother or sister for Christmas, little did she know that on Christmas morning she would find a lone Christmas sticking with her Christmas present inside: a little picture of you just 8 weeks along in mommy’s tummy, wrapped in a small pair of pajamas.
Your big sister Madisyn prayed for you to come, and dreamt of your arrival even before mommy knew.
Tyler and Ryan looked forward to you coming and loved feeling mommy’s tummy for you to give them a “high five”.
When I first knew that you were coming to our family I got a bit scared. It had been such a long time since we had had a baby in the house. Would I remember what I needed to do to take care of you? Would my body be able to handle another pregnancy since you were due a whole 3 days after my 35th birthday and I was considered “high risk”? Would I be able to keep up to the demands of raising 5 kids and actually do a good job? As soon as I felt your little acrobatic flips in my tummy, my fears went away and I fell in love with your little body growing inside of me.
Now that you are here I am able to snuggle with you and give each one of your fingers and toes a kiss. I am so blessed to have you in my life and thank Heavenly Father every day for your safe arrival in my arms.
I want you to know that mommy, daddy, Madisyn, Ashlyn, Tyler and Ryan love you very much and we are so lucky that you joined our family.
Love,
Mommy
