Dear John,
I don’t say “I love you” nearly enough, but I promise to try harder. I’m not always respectful, but I promise to try harder. I’m not always fun to be around, but I promise to try harder. I’m not always the most understanding, but I promise to try harder. I do not always encourage you, but I promise to try harder. Thank you for putting up with me these past 8 ½ years.
