Journalling: When I produced local sports, 1992-1997, David was our department engineer. I called him MY engineer and when I reminisce about those days, I still do.

David was a mentor to me in so many ways. He taught me so much in my first full time job in ”the biz" that made me a better producer and trainer because of all the nuts and bolts he taught me. He often went on location or met me on location when there was a problem or, like in this photo, to do everything he could to protect the equipment and still keep me running as long as the rain wasn't canceling an all-day softball tournament. It was good promotion too since the girls, and their parents (customers,) were impressed with their cable company’s dedication.

On location David kept our nonprofit wing of the cable company going with his ingenuity and sometimes scotch tape and toothpicks. Our collaborative work troubleshooting and protecting the equipment resulted in many preventative solutions, ideas and support for asking for new equipment (like Camplex?) to be included in the department budget.

Our combination of progressive engineer and driven sports producer was part of our department of young professionals getting better every year.
