July 18, 1976, at the Montreal Olympic Games, 14-year-old Nadia Comaneci made her mark on history as the first gymnast to ever score a perfect 10. Nadia walked away from the games with three gold medals, one silver, and a total of seven perfect scores, earning herself international fame and adoration, and even a popular song, "Nadia's Theme." Her flawless performance on the uneven bars turned my 11-year-old self into a lifelong fan of the amazing girl from Romania with the sweet smile and sad eyes.
