Journaling: January 3rd, mum went in for a standard procedure, which resulted in an emergency surgery and a changed life. From a 90 year old, independent working woman, she was forced to retire and use a walker to get around. But, as it typical of the wonderful woman who has ruled our lives with humour and grace, she took to her new role with aplomb and fortitude. She quickly became a favourite of the nurses and doctors, picked out a stylish walker, selected new clothes to suit her new lifestyle and never complained.
