Mom was a very talented crafter. She enjoyed many different types of crafts. That love of creation was passed on to her daughters. All six of us have done, or do, some type of crafting. Anything from sewing to card making. Several of us have also created traditional scrapping photo albums. Two of my sisters have joined me in the digital scrapping world. I was the first to convert from traditional to digital scrapping. (who knows if I will ever finish the traditional books I wanted to do). A couple years later I was able to convert Carol and for a couple years it was just the two of us. Not all that long ago, Bev inquired about digi-scrapping. She still loves scrapping but her daughters aren’t interested in keeping her yearly memory albums. She thought if she learned to digi-scrap it would be the best of both worlds. She still was able to scrap her weekly memories and her girls wouldn’t have the big albums to go through when her time to move on came. Carol and I have taught Bev how to digi-scrap. Carol  visited her and was able to show her computer to computer. I have been there for support and questions from both along the way.    In 2014, Carol and Bev went on a cruise together. I didn’t have Carol around to chat with daily. I turned to spending more time downloading blog trains. (great way to get free scrapbook kits) Carol was the first to find Gingerscraps and make a few purchases. While she and Bev were cruising, I was looking around and Kathryn Estry’s Pop Quiz challenge intrigued me. So, I was the first to join the forum and post a couple challenges. When Carol came back from the cruise, she decided she too would attempt a few challenges. For the past 5 years, Carol and I have managed to get 10 or more challenges posted each month (more often than not). We have had a few months that one or the other of us couldn’t get them all in, many months we did every challenge except the 52/365 challenge. As Bev does weekly or monthly pages, I brought up to her about the challenges at Gingerscraps. The 3 of us live in different states and in June Carol went to  visit Bev. She was interested in the challenges, so Carol helped her set up a Gingerscraps account. Now the 3 of us scrap together and share our pages before posting. (it’s nice to have someone proofread the journaling!) Modern technology has helped us share. We do screen shots of our layouts and email them to each other. Then we look at the emails and text ideas, corrections and  anything else that comes up. I know photoshop the best and have become the technical advisor by default!I  am thankful that although we are miles apart; Wisconsin, North Carolina and Florida, we have found a way to spend time together, scrap with each other, and enjoy life’s ups and downs along the way.
