We were within walking distance of Merrion Square Park, so we walked around there when we had spare time. The park had some wonderful flowers and interesting statues. Our favourite was that of Oscar Wilde lazing around on a giant rock. This contrasted significantly with the Baile Atha Cliath (The Victims) which portrays three figures, a dead soldier strapped to a bier, mourned by his wife and his mother. The square has been there since the late 1700s and has some wonderful houses, one of which was the home of Oscar Wilde. The houses are now mostly offices. It was a beautiful place to relax.
