Here in Czech Republic se are in a state of emergency and under shelter-in-place orders, so going outside has become somewhat of an adventure. This is the right hand side page of the two-page layout documenting our March 2020. The kit used is So You Had a Bad Day by Gingerbread Ladies. The journaling reads: We are told to stay at home and not go out unless absolutely necessary. Czech Republic is in a state of emergency, yet this shelter-in-place order does not mean we can't go outside. We can. With mouth and nose covered and only for a good reason. To go to work, buy food, visit a doctor, walk your dog or do exercise once a day. We are lucky, we have a garden where these rules do not apply, and Jack is still too small for proper three walks a day. So most of the time spent outdoors is time spent in our backyard. When we do venture into the outside world, we look like people who've got plenty to hide with a puppy on the prowl. and not just us. The other day while driving to Tesco we saw two guys racing each other along the street: both in black, both wearing masks, both sprinting as fast as their legs could carry them. They looked like bank robbers feeling the crime scene and it made us laugh out loud. Once a week we make a risky move and drive to McDrive to eat our Saturday lunch in the car. We are trying to stay all holed up and socially distanced from everyone so no more popping into the Vietnamese shop for snacks. Still, life goes on. The other day I went to the pharmacy, and Josef paid a visit to a notary. We took my car for the MOT test and had the tyres changed. After three weeks of this new normal it seems the virus has begun to slow down here and there's even talk of intelligent quarantine to be implemented after Easter so it has not all been in vain. 'After Easter', however, is still two weeks away. Back to the backyard we go.
