Journaling: Zoom interview with Ty just before his 12th birthday:

Q:           After the stay-at-home order is lifted, where is the first place you want to go?

A:                            I want to go to the mall or go to Florida. (When I asked him if he wanted to go back to the Disney parks, he explained further). No, I want to go back to the hotel by SeaWorld. You could watch movies in the swimming pool. (After Ty thought for a moment) And in Florida, I could get a massage. (We then had a conversation that he could get a massage where he lives, but that massage therapists were also currently closed).

Q:           What do you think about all of this with the “Corona Bug”?

A:                            I… I don’t know. I just don’t know.

Q:           What’s it like having online classes instead of going to school?

A:                            School online is confusing, but it’s also easier because it’s faster. Instead of the sixth graders going to seven classes for 45 minutes, we just have to go to the computer and finish our homework.

Q:           How are you planning to celebrate your 12th birthday?

A:                            Since I can’t have friends over, I’m going to have an Easter egg hunt for my birthday. And a cookie cake.

Q:What’s on your wish list for your birthday?

A:Everything I want is expensive, like a trampoline and an iPhone. I want PlayStation gift cards, Addidas sliders and book bag, a Kansas City Chiefs Superbowl flag to hang on my wall, and candy (Skittles, Starburst, Reece’s peanut butter cups, and SpongeBob Square Pants gummy Krabby Patties).
