Growing up, I went to Jantzen Beach Shopping Center on Hayden Island, in Portland, OR, a lot.  It's where Mom and Dad would meet to exchange me when they were going through the divorce.  While they talked, I loved to ride the merry-go-round.  At that time, the horses were painted all kinds of weird pastel colors.  The one I'm riding in the picture in 1983 was semi-normal horse colors, but some of the others were bright purple, pink, yellow, and orange.  The carousel was restored in 1996, and the horses were repainted.  I worked there in the summer and fall of 1996.  That is the same horse with the American flags restored, in the picture from 2012, when the carousel was dismantled and moved.  It has been restored again and is going to be open again soon.

I used a template & an element from “Wanderlust” by Miss Fish, a paper from “Live Life on Purpose” by Snickerdoodle Designs, and everything else came from “Road Trip” by the GingerBread Ladies/Miss Fish/Laurie’s Scraps/Heather Z Scraps/Miss Mis Designs/Neia Scraps/Neverland Scraps/Kristmess/JoCee Designs.
