A stop on my beautiful cruise to the Greek Islands.

Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 120 miles from mainland Greece.  The island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history, about 3,600 years ago.
Cruise ships anchor off Skala port, passengers are tendered to the island where the town of Fira is accessed by cable cars.
We traveled up the island to the scenic village of Olia, on the north west side.  The village typifies the white-painted houses of the Cyclades.  The houses and blue-roofed churches are built directly into the niches of the island.   It is at a height of between 230 and 330 feet above the sea level. The white spec down in the water is our cruise ship.
