Yes, I'm aware that this is a spider - but I actually really like this guy (or gal, as the case may be.) He's a good-sized, beautifully colored orange orb-weaver, and each night, he creates a very large, very intricate web and catches mosquitoes and other bugs all night long. His anchor line is about 20 feet long - from the tree where he lives (I think) to the tree where he traps his food. Each morning, he eats the silk of his web and retires for the day. He is usually in the same spot each night and doesn't like for me to shine my flashlight on him. If he tries a new spot, I see way more bugs when I let Bella out at night - and have to watch more carefully to make sure I don't run into his web. I don't like him that much.
