Hot apple cider and cake doughnuts were always a part of Halloween for me growing up. Great-Grandma used to make doughnuts and give them out. The caption for the photo is “Nicole & Karen, Northgate, Halloween 1989.” Mom had hot apple cider for trick-or-treaters she knew (and their parents).
