THANKSGIVING BOUNTY - When I was in 4th grade, my class put on a Thanksgiving play for the 2nd grade classes. We made rudimentary costumes from construction paper: hats and collars for Pilgrims and headbands with feathers for Indians. The mother of two of my friends, Marla and Marcella (who were twins), had made her daughters beautiful and realistic Pilgrim costumes for Halloween. As Marla was in my class and Marcella was in another class, there was an extra costume and they asked if I would like to wear it. I was thrilled!! I felt so special to be able to wear that costume and it is a memory that has stayed with me for 58 years. - November 1962
