journaling: All the women in mom’s family were amazing seamstresses. It’s been said that they even saved the family from going on welfare during the Great Depression by taking in sewing. So it comes as no surprise that both Mom and Gram were very talented craft artists too. Gram made the perpetual needlepoint calendar that, hangs in my kitchen, for Fred and me for our first anniversary. Mom created a counted cross-stitch pattern from the map of our lake and then created the artwork. I’m Blessed to have that in my home now too. I’ve created some pieces as well, but nothing I’ve been willing to frame. Maybe someday.
