Rocks! I love rocks! I collect rocks! One of my favorite rocks is this painted rock that my younger (and only) sister, Kathy, made for me back in the 70’s. I think she didn’t much like my boyfriend and this was her subtle (or perhaps not-so-subtle) way of reminding me of that. I just laughed, I knew he wasn’t a permanent part of my life - or hers, but I’ve treasured this rock for all these years. When I was working, it sat on my desk and moved around the world with me. Kathy passed away in 1989 when she was only 36. I still miss her, but I quit reaching for the phone to call her after a few years. The writing on the back is supposed to say “and surprise us all” but part of it has worn off and I don’t want to touch it up.
