Journaling - This Colorado State Park sits at the top of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. From this point the elevation begins increasing dramatically. The east side of the campsite and area roads had sweeping vistas of prairie lands far into the distance. Views on the western horizon were blocked by Cheyenne Mountain’s elevation of 9570 feet. Much taller mountains lie beyond its silhouette.
