Many years ago, 1994 in fact,  I was at a Country Music concert in the park and noticed a group of dancers having so much fun  dancing in lines and all doing the same steps (well mostly Smile),  I was so fascinated and desperately wanted to learn how to do it.  A few weeks later, I happened to be looking at what adult education classes were being offered for the year and this lady, Kath, was advertising an 8 week Learn to Linedance class.  I immmediately signed up for it, enthusiastically attended all 8 lessons then joined up with Kath’s regular weekly dance group.  From there, I gradually built up to four classes a week with social dancing every month or so.  I have had various teachers over the years, but Kath was the one who got me started.  She doesnt teach now but we remain close friends  and see  and chat together  often. Now, 29 years down the track, I am still dancing albeit only once a week and at a considerably slower pace these days.  Over the years, I have met so many wonderful people through this fantastic activity and it is all because of the start given to me by this very special lady, Kath, my friend
